The Dress

Stella York's Ethereal Fit-and-Flare Lace Wedding Dress in ivory/almond/porcelain colours (model 7591)

What I love about this dress:
- The dramatic low back, the mauve colour of the underlying gown, and the long lacy train.
- The dress is quite comfortable and does not feel constricting. Easy to sit and move around in.

Full disclosure: I purchased this dress as a sample dress and there is a small rip in the lace near the bottom right of the bust (see photo).
The dress has already been dry cleaned.

The original dress size is 10, with suggested measurements of Bust: 36.5 inches; Waist: 28 inches; Hips: 39.5 inches.
I usually wear 6/8 in street size (am 5 ft 2.5 inches, 120-125 pounds), and the dress was altered accordingly.

Alterations

- C-cups removed and replaced with sewn-in B-cups
- Dart bust in 2 spots
- Waist taken in (28 inches to fit 27.5 inches)
- Centre back taken in
- Straps shortened
- Hemmed to fit my height (5 ft 2.5 inches or around 159 cm) in 2-inch heels at floor-length (with heels: 5 ft 4.5 inches or around 164 cm)
- Bustle has been added. I would look into strengthening the loop that the bustle hooks into, as the train kept coming undone easily.
