The Dress

The Rachel gown by Catherine Deane. A magical dress with a top layer of translucent sequined tulle and underlayer embellished with gorgeous beading and floral detailing. The lining is made out of satin and is super soft and comfortable.

This dress truly made me feel confident and radiant. The straps ensured I didn't have to worry about any unwanted slips. I was equally keen to capture photographs from the front and the back thanks to the beautiful neckline and the dramatic low back. There is also a subtle belt above the waistline to provide shape and to lengthen your legs.

I had the dress dry cleaned 3 days after the big day. There are slight stains on the bottom of the hem but aren't noticeable from 1 metre.

Alterations

The dress was originally a size 8, however I took it in to fit my body. I am 157cm and wore 4" heels on my wedding day. I weigh between 47.5kg - 49kg (it fluctuates!)

There are small flowers around the neckline which we rearranged to give the dress a fresher, lighter feel. We removed some flowers so the pattern was less dense. With these flowers, I had them attached to my veil (if you're interested in the veil, please message!)

A slit in the top tulle sequined layer was added on the left side. This created beautiful movement in the dress when I walked which allowed the beading and floral detailing on the underlayer to shine through.
